finally

Summer is here.  The heat, the humidity, the gorgeous blue skies.  Makes me love my home more than ever.  Is there really anything better than a Midwestern summer? After all that snow, ice, and cold... to finally get the good stuff?

Had to lie out.  It was just too good to be true.  Then I went inside and cleaned the h*ll out of my awful bedroom and parent's house.  Really, I hadn't even gone through all my school notebooks.  Yikes.  Then I downloaded  Wicker Park and finally understood it- not like when I was it in theaters in high school.  Happy, happy summer readers : )

What do you think?  I really like her music, I wish she'd come out with another album.  We'll see.  In the meantime I will enjoy India Arie and Sharon Jones.

•ABC Carpet & Home Silk department. I have wanted to go there since high school, but always forget when I am in NYC.  Next time. Raw silk is my favorite fabric, sadly it kind of makes me itch, but maybe for the skirt of my wedding dress someday far away.

•The most charming image via.  Wouldn't this be the best gift?  I seriously wish I had seen this before Christmas, because I would of asked.  I want it! I want it!

•I'm such a sucker for white.  If I needed a piece like this, and if I do I will buy it- I would change the pulls to clear depression glass.  So cute though.  Perfect way to be organized and stylish at the same time.

•Delicious glass jewelry.  I'd take this in a necklace, but with thinner beads.  They look yummy.

•Picked this up today at the student bookstore.  Got 25% off (early Thanksgiving sale).  Loving it.  So cool.

TRYING OUT TO BE ONE OF LAUREN CONRAD'S (yes from The Hills) MODELS FOR A FASHION SHOW. 

•She sent this promo out to all the sorority houses in the world (I think, details are fuzzy), and apparantly she is gong to pick the "best" ones (mmm yeah, prob not me, lol) and they are going to model her new line in a show.

•And believe it or not, this was not my idea.  Karen begged me to join her, and like a good sorority sister I said yes.

•What did this entail?  Well, two photographers coming to our house for a shoot of course.  Pics? Oh you just wait.

•Here are the two guys setting up everything, and Karen workin' her charm.  Those guys must love their job.  They go around and photograph sorority girls in front of a banner, and get to chat with them.  Just two New York boys livin' the dream...

•Now it would be wrong to say we didn't enjoy this.  Especially when they said, "now stand like this, and like this" then snapped away. 

•Do I do the craziest stuff or what?  Really.  I sometimes cannot even keep up with the mischef I get myself into!

home for now

Sometimes it's just good to go home for a night.  After a long week of work and stupid boy drama and a crazy thursday night it was time...

I am going to study early for a test that is Wednesday, catch up with my good friend Ole about his campaign, bake with my mother, and sit at my desk and work on my resume(s). 

It feels good to go home sometimes.  even for just an evening.

So.  Last night.  I walked home from my night class, and had to take an unusual path than normal so I could locate the moon (for my astronomy class, which is really cramping my style by the way...)

And I walked pass a favorite little book store of mine, and the lights were on... and down the stairs I went.

And had my cards read.

Yes, I know what you're thinking.  That is weird.  You are weird.  God doesn't like that.  What were you thinking?

And I don't know what I did it.  Maybe because I get so worried about my future and doing what is right for me, that I'll take anything- anything the universe has to offer. And it's fun, and I needed to do something just for me super selfish and so...

The woman read my cards.  And it was interesting.  And the only real tangible thing I decided to take out of it was: the Universe is telling me to slow down.  Relax.  And stop going for bad boys.  And eat more sour patch kids (okay, so the last one wasn't true).

But yes.  I had my cards read.  And it was fun.  And it made me happy.
