I know so many of you were looking forward to hearing about my experience working at Melly (the Lilly Pulitzer store here in MN) so here we go...
I know. To die for. Certainly one of the most beautiful stores I have ever set foot in. A pleasure to work in! Aesthetically pleasing in so many ways from the tiled floor to open ceiling and lighting.
Working the register... not! Well, I did, not that hard to learn. I was nervous about that. I spent most of the time in different dresses walking around the mall "modeling" with my new boss' grandchildren. It was a treat. I love this dress, it is so well made and has a great feature that all strapless dresses need: the fabric dips slightly under the underarms- brilliant design.
I love this brand. I own three Lilly dresses and they are like pearls to me. I feel comfortable selling this (expensive) brand because of the quality. Lilly never goes out of style and dresses that are older never look "old." I wore a Lilly from 2005 to work and I fit right in. Of course I had my eye on some new stuff, and that will come once I am working full time : )
Something exciting, and new that Lilly has done is stationary and party supplies. I am in love with the coasters, note cards, sticky pads, and pens. Too much! Too much!
I am drooling over this dress I modeled. It's amazingly flattering because of the fun bubble bottom. Those are the cute grandbabies of the owner. They were my co-models and we had too much fun. They helped me pick out new dresses to model! Time of my life!
