... and I thought I looked good in a black t-shirt...
Way back in December, shortly after K and I met he came over for dinner. He was wearing his usual "business" attire. Except he didn't exactly look like your run of the mill, buttoned up downtown guy. I realized his suit hadn't been altered yet.
Then. It hit me. He reminded me of someone. Beyond the zoot suit, something else, a song:
me: you know who you look like?
k: who?
me: that guy in the song, you know, in the south side of Chicago...
k: Leroy Brown?
me: Ya!
For whatever random reason I have this image of Leroy Brown and see a movie in my head every time I hear that tune.
But don't worry, K doesn't keep a razor in his shoe or anything like that. My goodness, this is only Minneapolis after all. He does have a pocket knife, though, being from north of Lake Street I suppose you just cannot take chances! Just kidding :)
