As you know I have loved this summer. I cannot complain. I learned a few interesting things this summer:
I like to take photos at night! I think a newer camera body helps, but really- after years of dreading night photography I am enjoying it so much more. I took these outtakes while at a Magazine shoot at the new Cafe Maud.
Weddings are fun! I think my whole "I-dislike-weddings" attitude came from memories of shooting really hard ones (which I don't do anymore) and my experiences as a child being bored out of my mind. I mean it's not going to be wedding crashers, but I have to say that Katherine's big day was stunning and classically beautiful. I loved her's and Georgia's. Good thing because with AOPi under my belt I imagine I'll be attending a high quantity of weddings :)
My Labor Day matched Memorial Day in the delicious category. Look at how cute P is trying to get his creme brule!? I love that all three of these people (and me) owe their existence to one incredible woman: Amelia Mowery. My grandmother who passed away two years ago July.
Apparently I'm not in the loop, they make black salt!? This tasted so delicious especially on grilled corn on the cob. Think of the fun we all could have with black salt. Think about it.
For the first time ever really I'm networking and meeting other female photographers. I have gotten to know a few local people well and I'm so grateful for that. The just-as-genuine-in-person Mary and I met up at Anondyne a few weeks back.
Lastly, I was reminded (because it's not new) that sunflowers are the prettiest flower. Truly.
I hope you learned some great things this summer, too!
