This is my beautiful grandma Dororthy. I loved that mom and I stayed with her for two nights at the same darling, white cape cod style house she and Grandpa raised dad and his three siblings in. There are many things I love about these photos: her sweet smile, the fact that she's preparing for dinner by starting everything at noon and that pretty blue on her walls.
I loved revisiting the past while in Ohio: old photographs like this one (of my dad's younger siblings), the peanut butter cookie recipe dad loved as a kid, even the old neighborhood that grandma and grandpa lived in right after returning home from Germany.
Mom, Aunt Barbara and Aunt Trudy (my mom's sister- our families are a bit intertwined) who also lives in Ohio and I walked downtown Toledo. I loved the old mill district. We went to Libby Glass where I was extremely tempted to purchase beautiful glassware I have no room for in my kitchen.
I am so grateful that my grandma is still around and healthy. I hope she's around for my future. It was so great to visit and stay with her. I'm still dreaming about her perfect baked macaroni and cheese.
