Recently the 2nd commandment has made its way into my mind at least a few times everyday. I can't stop thinking about these words Christ spoke:
This is so hard. I think that's why God and Christ command us to do this. Loving people is more challenging than judging. Loving people isn't always natural. Loving people who aren't beautiful, smart, nice, charming, important or similar to me isn't always my first instinct. I am working on it, thankfully I have great examples in God and Christ.
They command me to love the homeless person on my street, the greedy real estate mogul, the obnoxious drunk person and the old man waiting for the bus. I know it's easy to love the people I know and call friends or family, but my friends and family don't live next door to me, you know?
Love your neighbor :)
