The beginning of my sophomore year of college I worked at the Y, as a babysitter- which was essentially the daycare of the gym. I would take care of children while their parents worked out- or left the place entirely. LOL. I don't remember a lot about working there (only was there from Sept-Dec) and only a few days a week. I didn't like it much. But at the time, my other two roomies worked there so it seemed logical. I do remember giving the kids lots of coloring sheets and then goldfish for snack-
After I moved apartments between the semesters I didn't work. I just took a break, and I'm glad I did. I spent a lot of time hanging out with my new roomies (who I liked a lot), going to class (I had just started taking major related courses), and nursing myself from a hard break up. I took it easy.
But summer came and then I was out of school and needed to get a job fast... it was too late for me to try for an internship, and I had already done that so... I applied and was hired at a daycare in Roseville. I just took the free campus bus over there each day. It worked out so well. Basically a standard 9-5:30 job. I loved taking care of the kids, and my two co-workers Kristy and Annie.
Once the school year came I needed to be closer to campus though, and since the daycare I worked at was a chain, I was able to transfer to the center closest to campus. I kept working there part time all through May when...
I got another internship, this time at KBYU for Classical 89. Everyday I went to work in the basement of the WILK to write and produce scripts for Here's Y, Thinking Aloud, and just the regular news. I made some friends there, and laughed so much in the newsroom at some of the craziest jokes ever. I worked everyday alongside Anna, and we became close, too. My boss however, was the best. He is one of the kindest, most understanding, intelligent men I know. Both my parents had the chance to meet him, and I am so glad they did- he rocked. Literally! I was really glad to get some reporting experience under my belt-
