Excuse me, is this become one of those blogs? You know what I'm talking about, the only subject of entries is about boyfriends and dates and flowers and cuteness, boy-friend-box blog? Wait, are you confused? You see, I had this AP English teacher my senior year of high school. She referred to girls who only talked about their boyfriends as being in the boyfriend box, like they stepped into a box, and that was their identity. Was she poisoning young minds? I wonder...
But the reality of it is, when someone comes into your world, and adds to it (not completes), you get kind of thrilled, and want to blog/journal/relate things to it.
I'm kind of excited for J. He's so smart readers, really he is. The University is sending him to Stanford, the Ivy of the west, to attend some big thing (I'm fuzzy on details)- because HE IS SO SMART AND TAKING OVER THE WORLD! Just kidding, but he is, and he's grabbing dinner with dad while he's there. How fun is that? My dad had never liked any of my boyfriends/dates except J. He really likes J. They have violin playing in common, and are both into school/being smart.
J does so much for me. He surprises me with great dates, flowers, and amazing gifts- gifts of time, energy, and pearls. I'm blessed. So, I'm making him a good-bye homemade lunch for tomorrow and... he'll have a cute note to open up from me each day while he's there- I had so much fun making this, and it's so easy to do:

That is awesome for J! He sounds very ambitious and charming (in a genuine way). You know Katie, my dad never liked ANY of my boyfriends either, but he liked my hubby from day one. I think he and my mom liked him more than I did....lol. I remember my dad saying that we "compliment each other well". Boy was he ever right! That was 1993 (we married in 1998)! Somehow parents, especially dads, have this unique intuition. What the two of you have sounds very special.

I agree with Kim--dads have a unique intuition when it comes to this stuff. My dad knew I was going to marry Kent even before I knew it!
And by the way--boxy is fun. We like to hear about your happiness!

Oh please, your blog is not becoming one of those blogs.

I just read my comment back and since you can't hear my tone...I mean in a very good way your blog is a far cry from ever becoming one of those blogs that only talks about the husband and kids.

I actually love reading about how happy you are! I like seeing how you appreciate each other and do sweet things. I usually hate blogs once someone gets a boyfriend/has a baby/gets a puppy but yours hasn't "jumped the shark" at all! I'm curious as to who the teacher was, although I think many were gone between your time there and my time there.
