Is always a crazy night. Why? Oh the costumes, and the parties, and downtown, and perfect fall weather combined... that's for a dangerously fun time. And wait... did I mention it is also homecoming weekend- oh goodness, that's another post in and of itself...
Drum roll please... The costume... witch : )
(yes it's college, yes that's my costume. Don't worry. I'm not going to be workin' this when I'm 45- these are the years!)
But really. I was put to shame by the number of CREATIVE homemade costumes that really inspired me. Here are a few of my favorites...
Here you have: a Geisha girl (aka Karen), Buttefly with crushed velvet leotard (Kate), John McCain (some guy), and Anderson Cooper (some guy). I loved the Political stuff, I could throw a whole party just devoted to dressing up as political characters... I call Michelle Obama!
The best costume however, had to be Amy Winehouse (Emma). So after dressing up, and primping like crazy- Emma and I headed over to a sorority sister's apt for drinks... then in cabs downtown. Despite clearly looking like a witch I got questions about who I was... I was told, "you don't look scary enough to be a wich." Oh, how looks are deceiving!
I will never go downtown for another holiday ever again. Two reasons: a) too crowded b) nearly impossible to find a ride back to campus. Plus campus has fun stuff to do, but it was nice to get out and feel like a grown up.
Back on campus (after chasing down cabs, in and out of major 4 lane streets- fun!) we headed to get something to eat. I met up with my new friend D (who I met Thursday dancing at Library- not the place where you study). We eat chips, walked Emma home, then I gave him a tour of the sorority house.
Now. It would NOT be Halloween without something scary/boy drama. Here is the scary thing that happened: early on in the afternoon Kate, Karen, & I ventured to party city. Bad decision. We walk in and the whole Greek community is there, all the boys we've kissed etc..., and AHHHH Sir Phillip. Insert Alfred Hitchcock Psycho scream. Horrific. I hid behind some fake spider webs because my hair didn't look good, and I was not about to be "seen."
Boy drama: I get "please take me back for the 100th time etc..." texts from my grocery store lover/enemy.
Does Halloween bring out craziness? Tell me it does, and it's just not my life... At least I had fun with D, and the girls : )
