CKU craziness: day one

•I had to blog this right away so I know all of you were waiting with baited breath to see how I faired... as a TA. for CKU Provo. In Ali's class.
•The verdict: so, so fun.  and so exhausting!
•Without further ado, the photos.  And keep in mind I felt right at home snapping away, I've never seen so  many D-SLRs and Rebels... so fun to not be getting weird looks for taking pictures a lot.

•oo lala, it's my apron.  That's right.  I checked in at 8:20am (you know I had to get up early, ugh, not fun, but because it was scrapbooking, well... I manged through the 6:30 alarm clock).  They handed me an instruction sheet, a name badge, and apron.  I was off to help set up the room before the students arrived.
•you'll never believe this, but Ali remembered me.  I met her and spoke to her for about 5 minutes way back in 2004-05ish at age 17... and she knew who I was, and hugged me.  I love the lady.  She is so down to earth, and grounded, and creative...

•Ali did an excellent job of teaching the entire lesson.  Everyone received a kit, and she took them through the steps of creating their very own album.
•I was so impressed with how on-top-of-it and down to earth Ali is, really she is so genuine.  What you see is what you get.
•She had great advice: don't worry about grammer/spelling in journaling, just write- get it out- and put down what you feel.
•I asked her quite a few questions during down time about albums and general organization, and will be implementing those into my scrapbooking.
•There was so, so much to do.  I was running around checking tickets, getting kits, helping people with their kits, and making sure all was well.  People asked a lot of questions, needed help.
•The day went by so, so quickly.  But of course, time flies when you are doing something you love.  And how could I be tired with Ali and all the creative juices flowing?

•There were over NINETY women in todays class alone, can you believe that?  It was so crazy, but fun crazy.
•Ali was so great and brought not only the sample album for the class, but many of her other mini albums.  They are really something to see.  She is so great with layering, transparencies, and overall layouts.  It was fun to peak through them and get ideas.

•Another extra treat was meeting and talking to the scrapbooker of the year winner, Mrs. Elizabeth.  She was so nice, and patient- we had a little kit retrieval issue.  And she was so kind and told me, "you are just the cutest TA ever."  Haha, bet she didn't see me trip over the cords connecting Ali's computer to the speakers- hmm.  graceful.
•What a "bonus" for me to watch and learn from Ali's great slide show.  I really had a great opportunity here, all due to the kindness of Brittany and things just falling into place so nicely.  Thanks Lord.

•I am so glad I go to go (are you sick of hearing so much positivity on my blog?) Ahhh.  It was great.  I am so tired, but good tired.
•And the sweetest woman presented me with this (chocolates, naturally)... how kind is that?

•So yes, fabulous day.  Wish you were here.  I think I'm gonna go make myself a huge pot of pasta loaded with butter and cheese.  Yum!

yay! so glad to hear that things went so well. Those TA's do have to work pretty hard.

I love Ali's mini-albums. I took a class from her at the convention this year and took some time to browse through her stuff. She is just so creative.

I love the positive vibe! :) Enjoy your high!

I'm excited for you-what a fun day you had- I'm not much of a scrapper- {I've relied on Shannon for that} Like I've said before, your pictures always tell a story :}
Happy Day
