more good news i suppose
Yesterday I purchased my plane ticket for Utah. I am so excited, focused on all the present issues, but excited. May 20th.
I haven't hopped on a plane and left to live somewhere else for a while since August 2005. My memories of being all along and so independent have faded, but I'm sure they'll come back to me full blast this spring.
To be honest I am really excited to go. I will really miss my sorority and friends here, but my ward is really not that great. I know, I know, I should not be complaining. But I wear black every Sunday, if you get my point.
I'm glad that at least I know my testimony is strong enough to not have it contingent on the social life at church. I am like the trés awkward sorority girl there... not fitting in at all. But is okay because the Church is true, and I need to take the sacrament.
Sometime in the summer I got sick of people constantly pining away/settling for less/not realizing their own personal potential/being the epitome of mediocrity, so I personally did something about it. I am getting on a plane in May to check this place out. To see if maybe after graduation if would be a good place for me.
I could go on and on I suppose, but the bottom line is I get to go!

I'm pretty sure you're going to come and fall in love and never want to leave. :)

Hooray! Change is a good thing, especially when you feel so ready for it like you seem to at this point. I think you're going to have a fantastic summer!

you have such a great attitude and perspective on church/life/goals -- it is so refreshing! And about your testimony/church attendance not dependant upon a social life there -- there are many grown women & mothers who haven't figured that one out!
How exciting that you have your plane ticket! I really hope you get everything out of the experience that you are looking for.

Good lift off my dear child/daughter/young woman. I don't understand all of this "drama" but I do know that you are a special young woman --- with a destiny. I pray that you learn a lot through your internship! I want to see you on CNN.
Love Dad!

Oh, MAy is my favorite month in Provo! And hey, even if you decide you don't want to stay (I did NOT want to settle down in Utah), you will probably love it. I loved going to school at BYU. And with the attitude you are bringing to it, it is sure to be a fabulous experience.
