these are a few of my favorite things (prep)
Thanksgiving 2007:
Obviously the pre-Thanksgiving prep is often the most memorable. Err stressful. This year I was responsible for:
-Apple Pie
-Cornbread Stuffing
-Lion House Rolls (double batch)
-Sweet Potato Pie
It would not be Thanksgiving without rushing the night before to get everything done, and of course, surprise visits from friends. Jana stopped by and we went over how to do homemade pie crusts.
I will have you know that I am a traditionalist, and when it comes to holidays, very much a food snob. I have to use my Great Aunt Hazel's never fail pie crusts, Great-Grandma's cornbread stuffing (she was the first black chef at the Desota Hilton hotel in Savannah, Georgia), and my Grandma Harris' sweet potato pie. My apple pie recipe hails from the New York Times cookbook.
Step 1:
Assemble ingredients for and make dressing
Step 2:
Make pie crusts
Step 3:
Start Apple Pie. Part of the recipe requires the apples to soak in a sugar mixture, my mom's polka dotted bowl provided the perfect place.
Step 4:
Make Lion House dough. Because we were having 15 over I had to make a double batch and it just barely fit into the kitchen aid.

Wow, I'm impressed- Home made dressing..way to go..mine came from a box. I love the bowls you used {blue rimmed, flower, and poka dot bowls are way fun, are they old?}
