It's official: I've stepped into the "girlfriend box"

That's how things are going so far with Matt's move out here-

So far things are progressing, and for the first time to Katie speed (or should I say almost Katie speed, which usually it like the length of a snap, because, well I'm impatient when it comes to things I want!)

We looked at a room in a house, and after showing Matt the pictures over the internet he decided to go ahead and take it... So that's in progress!

He's already worked on his application for school and was out gathering up transcripts!

Luckily his job will transfer, so that's not a big worry.

It's been my job to find furniture for him, so I have two queries out for a futon. So I should hear back soon about that-

I'm totally hopeless, right? I've been that girl who talks about her boyfriend... Ugh. As my AP English teacher said "you know those girls who once they had a boyfriend, that's all they can think or talk about? They stop being themselves and step into what is known as the girlfriend box and their whole world is related through that." Actually, thinking back- what the h*ll did that have to do with Beauwulf and Grendel? Oh well!

I hope I'm never that bad, who knows what I'll be like when I have kids- it will be "my baby this, my baby that"... : )

Stepping right back into my "box" here's a picture to share!
Lookatme

Anyway, feeling a bit bored (despite my majorly busy life) I was wondering if any of you blog readers would like me to create banners or to artsy-up a picture (like the above)? I'd love to work on some new subjects!

Okay! Let me know, just e-mail me or comment here!

a trip back in time...

On the way home from a friend's high school graduation party mom and I went by the house I used to live in when I was little!

When we pulled up to it, it wasn't the house I recognized, but the neighbor's. Isn't it funny how when you're young you think things are so big?

They had repainted it yellow, and the best part was...

We got to go inside! I just rang the bell for the heck of it, and would you know it was another mixed girl (now isn't that ironic that two mixed girls would of ended up living in this suburban house way out?)

She was so sweet and let us look all around. Mom really remembered everything, but for me it was more vague, although I did find my old bedroom.

I'm so glad we did that and I got a picture, too!

weekend update

So things have been a bit less hectic than the past few weeks, I'm settling into a nice summer-work routine!

On tennis: Detrich and I played on Wednesday, Abbie and I on Monday. I'm def. imporoving, really especially my back hand, which was awful before!

Here are my new goodies:

Sadly the good weather ended and so it's been raining!

So what's a girl to do when it's raining? Shop and scrapbook, of course-

Here's a thank-you album I made for my aunt:

There's also a Matt update: so right now he's on the look out for an apartment, his job will transfer here, so it's really just a matter of finding a place to live. Tomorrow, after church I'm going to check out a room in a house nearby school to see if it's a good idea. Sounds great on craigslist, and the house is full of students so it should be good. A lot of people don't understand why Matt and I just don't get our own aptartment, but that's just not for us. We'll just see how the place is!

flower pens

For a while I've been dying to make these and when I got my own desk at work I knew they'd be the perfect thing to spurce up my little cube!

Mom and I went to Michaels last week. Did I mention that place is deadly? I cannot even walk through the scrapbook section of it!

Anyway, we picked out some fun flowers and got florists' wire and tape. They were pretty easy to put together, and I used a glue gun to reinforce the top part

I'm thinking these would be a fun gift, like to tie a ribbon around the pot with a card?

They're just so cute!

let's get it all in order... 1, 2, 3 Summer!

Well things have been so hectic!

I flew home from Portland on the 31st of May and am settling in quite well!

A few days before I left I got a call from a company I had sent my resume to for a summer internship. Since one of the criteria was that the intern had to at least be a college junior or senior I pretty much knew that I'd be out of the running, but what the heck I thought and just sent my resume over...

In the meantime I looked up working at a few places: Ann Taylor Loft, Starbucks...

But low and behold I ended up getting a call from the woman who I'd sent my resume to, and she asked me to come and work for her! I was so happy!

I for one love being at home, I'm a "home body" hands down, but in the summer it's different, especially since I'm away from Matt so working it the perfect thing to keep me distracted. Not to mention it's fun.

I'm a communications major and this just fits in so well! Okay, more on the job later...

For the past few months Matt and I have been throwing around the idea of having him transfer to the school that I am at now. The seperation was just too much for us-

Because he needed to tie up loose ends he was planning on being out here second semester, but he decided he can't wait that long : ) If everything works out my wonderful boy will be here with me by the end of August. I cannot wait!

So far there's lots of work he has to do:
-Apply to schools out here
-Find a job
-Find an apartment

Oh, did I forget to mention that I'm going to be living with two other girls next year in an apartment off-campus? I'm so excited, and this time around I get my own room : )

On to shopping, it was time for some new make up

Yes, and the rumors are true. Bare Escentuials is the best thing ever, and I usually don't endorse products so there!
