Matt, a baby, n' Me : )

Img_0398

We went to Julian's house tonight for dinner. It was the first time meeting his girlfriend Nancy and their new baby Lucia. Needless to say I was so excited! Matt likes kids, and it's so much fun to see him around them. I love babies like no one else and Lucia was so calm. She's very well natured too. We had a great dinner, made my Nancy and then we talked. Oh... and Matt had never held a baby as young as Lucia (about a month) so here's him doing it for the first time : ) and this is why I love this man, see how gentle he is....

Bustin' Up!

I found this on the face book, and added my own views in the parenthesis... so much of this is true it's scary... oh the memories of going to an all girl's catholic school!

Catholic School Girls!
You know you're a catholic school girl when....

1) You spend at least 5 days a week at your school or doing school work. (yes!)
2) You know where most of your teachers live. (and their home phone numbers too!)
3) You don't know the meaning of the words "work" or "study." (please I do not work)
4) You have mastered the art of cheating. (never)
5) Parents seem to think you're such a great influence on their child. (because I really am!)
6) Your parents think you are perfect and believe whatever you say. (yep)
7) At one time you almost liked your uniform... almost. (LOVED it)
8) The minute school is over you look like you just got out of the Britney Spears video.
9) You get kicks out of being able to wear pajamas to school. (oh hell yes)
10) You have a way of making yourself look sooo innocent... when we all know you're really not. (actually, I am)
11) By the time you hit ninth grade, you had figured how to get yourself in and out of your house without your parents knowing.
12) You lie a lot; more than any public school kid you know.
13) You know more classmates who smoke weed than dont.
14) You're obsessed with Dave Matthews.
15) It costs you $100 to park in your school's lot. (hell yes it did!)
16) You only have one pep rally per school year. (ah-huh no football for us…)
17) Your parents spend over $300 a year on your school books. (not to mention the cost of lunch…)
18) Your parents bought you a car.
19) Everyone hugs each other when they greet people. (We need emotional support!)
20) At dances you form an all-girls circle that no guy can take over. (They can't dance for sh*t anyway…)
21) You have the best bunch of friends and no one will ever ruin that. (YESSSS)
22) You DON'T wear a cross.
23) You have redefined what an oxford is.
24) Schools with shorts can kiss your skirt.
25) You're blonde, or once were...naturally or not...or wish you were.
26) You rarely shave during the winter and if you do you leave it for weekends.
27) You try to get as many dress code violations in one day without getting caught as possible.
28) You know what a demerit is.
29) You bring an endless supply of green, navy, or maroon knee socks to college with you.
30) You drink excessively on the weekend, or whenever you go out. (you have to, in order to stay sane)
31) Your idea of a "different" weekend is drinking a new kind of alcohol. (pass the covosier!)
32) Drinking isn't just a hobby for you... it's a career...and something to be very proud of. (Oh yeah…)
33) You have been caught drinking at one time or another, probably at a school dance.
34) You conclude that the nuns are bitches due to lack of sex.
35) You are a closet whore.
36) You have countless obsessions with guys you've never even spoken to and insist on visiting their home/work every night of the weekend.
37) When you go out, you always plan to hook up.
38) You do dirty things w/ guys every time you have a chance.
39) You become fixated on meeting or talking to the guy of your dreams all the time!
40) Your first kiss was from a Mike, John or Andrew. (This is sadly SO TRUE)
41) At least one of your friends will have thought they were pregnant by your junior year of high school. (yep but she wasn't my friend)
42) In ninth grade, you figured out how to get guys in and out of your house without your parents knowing. (HAHAH)
43) You have no problem joking about being a lesbian. (SO TRUE!)
44) You know how to tie a tie, but not on yourself.
45) You spend many a theology class listening to your teacher preach about the
Catholic church's take on premarital sex. (yep… having sex will kill you…)
46) When you meet people for the first time they know you go to Catholic school because... "Catholic school girls are crazy!"
47) You've shoplifted sometime before in your life...and broken many other laws for that matter.
48) You dont know anyone in your classes who hasn't cheated at least once.
49) You can out-eat any guy you know!
50) You have tried to get out of going to church on Sunday by saying "But I prayed all week."
51) You seriously don't know how to shut up. (This is me)
52) "Remember whens..." are your specialty. (Awww I love these)
53) "Only the Good Die Young" is a song to live by.
54) You've put endless amounts of gum underneath a pew during school mass.
55) You play field hockey, basketball, or swim. You like to cheer, but hate cheerleaders.
56) At least one of your friends is named: Katie, Lauren, or Megan. (Hey I am a Katie!!!)
57) Your name has a Catherine, Mary, Elizabeth or Ann in it. (Hey my full name is Katherine!)
58) You have sworn that you will never, ever send your kids to Catholic school.
59) Everyone knows everything about everyone else's business! (Don't even get me started!)
60) What happened on Friday night is all around school by Monday morning before first period. (Shoot at least by then…)
61) Some of the teachers are in on the student body gossip. (And they read our live journals too!)
62) You are able to give a detailed description of pretty much everyone in your class. (and I know who they dated, where they live, and why they dislike my group of friends)
63) Good little catholic school angel...or should I say devil
64) You go to the football games, but don't have a clue as to what is going on. (same goes for ANY OTHER sport)
65) When you wear your school skirt, you can see your a** crack. (when I wear ANYTHING)
66) You stopped caring what your hair looked like after the first week of school.
67) You own at least one pair of Victoria Secret thongs. (uhhh more like 8)
68) You get happy when you see a mistake.
69) You started laughing when you reached this number.

and {THIS} is why I love my friends : )

Last night around 8 or so Annalise called me. It was so great to hear from her, even though our trip has been only offically over for five days I miss her like crazy. We started talking and she came up with the more genius of ideas!!!

Matt and I pretty much have been dating for two months to the date. The truth is I couldn't remember exactly when (I'd have to check my diary), but Annalise said now was close enough to the true day. She told me that she would call him up and mention some things that I like to him, and offer her help. You just know, some guys need that extra "push" and we all know he wouldn't have a CLUE of what to buy for me.

So I gave her his cell phone number and went on working on a funny scrapbook page. Not more than 3 minutes later MY phone rang. Uh-oh I thought, he wasn't there...

But NO Annalise said it went REALLY well. Here's how the conversation went.

Annalise: "Hi Matt, this is Annalise remember Katie's friend"
(Matt, in his usual somber phone voice) "oh yeah"
Annalise: "Well I was just calling b/c I know that you and Katie's two month anniversary was coming up, and I don't know if you really want to know, but I know some things that Katie really likes"
(EXCITED Matt) "Oh yeah, great!!! This is good because I don't know what to get her!"
Annalise: "Oh okay, well I know she likes this cubic zorconium pendant necklace and gerber dasies"
Matt: "Great now what kind of price range are we talking about"
Annalise: "Around thirty dollars or so"
Matt: "This is great because I get paid soon"
Annalise: "oh okay well if you want me to go put it on hold at Norstrom's I could do that for you"
Matt: "Or maybe do you want to go shopping together?"
Annalise "Great"

YES! I was cracking up when Annalise told me what he'd said. She thinks that he just doesn't know what to get me, and he really wants to make me happy. We all know he's a PLEASER. Well I am so excited and when Annalise gets a boy I will def. do the same for her!

Now here's another gorgeous picture of him... oh he is SO FINE!

P is for "Published'!!!

Magazinecover Grandpa

Yes, that's right! I have offically been published! My, I must say.. this day IS looking up : ) Back in January I was the sumitting queen. Almost daily I would log onto www.scrapsubmit.com and check out what all the magazines had calls for. It has been my dream to be published and I knew when I saw Paperkut's call for family pages that my layout about grandpa would be perfect.

About a week later, after sumitting I heard back and quickly sent in my page post haste!! I waited and waited and finally today I got the idea book "Family Matters" (see above) and my originall layout back!

I must say I am so excited to be a published scrapbooker and cannot wait to get scrapping again now that I'm back in town!

This would of never happened if Kelly, a friend of mine from 2peas wouldn't of encouraged me to sumit my stuff. If you ever read this... Thank you so much for that extra push!

Well I'm out for now!

So... rested!

I love lazy mornings with Matt. Spending time with him has got to be one of my favorite things to do.

Yesterday we had planned to go up to council crest park and walk around, maybe catch dinner on Burnside since it would be late.

Instead he came over and we decided to go to Red Robbin. I must say I was a bit sceptical, but it was actually pretty good! Matt eat a burger and I had a spinach dip (mmm, my favorite!)

Over dinner we talked a little bit about next year. I know it's going to be SO HARD to leave in August. I told him that I do not want this to be one of "those" relationships and so to feel free to have fun, but no getting engaged or anything... He said the same for me, although he seemed kind of stressed. We decided we're not talking about August until when it comes, we want to enjoy time together!

In the car on the way back to my house Matt told me I was the most serious relationship he's ever had. A few days ago he told me he loved me. I'd probably say he's the most serious for me too, and I feel like I do love him in a unique sort of way (uh that sounds bad, but it makes sense to me!)

We decided to rent a movie and I picked out "Hide & Seek." I love scarry stuff and Matt and I turned out all the lights and watched it alone on the couch. He was very affectionate, and he's gotten more so over the past few times I've seen him. I've got to say that the seperation was good for us, it gave us a nice break!

I made him some food and he left for work. Here's a cute picture of him in the lacoste polo I bought for his birthday back in May.

OH---- and by the way!!! I got my permit!!! I went yesterday to the downtown DMV and got a 90%. I must say that I was pretty damn proud of myself, but I think it just scared dad a bit.

Reasons I LOVE the south!!!

Oh how can I count the ways??? The south is just the greatest, and I really do love it so much, here's why:

1) History, history, history. Nothing is bloodier and more interesting to me than southern history, perhaps it's because my ancestors were a part of it!
2) Lots of MY people. That's right, it feels so good to be around black folks
3) How cheap everything is. Can you Publix brand? Uh yeah! From houses to dental floss everything is less expesive down south. I love that if I wanted to I could so buy a house with just one year's tuition at Sarah Lawrence!
4) The food. Oh yeah! Collard greens, fried chicken, shrimp, gumbo, and peach cobbler mmmm yummy!
5) Beaches. Really, the prettiest I've ever seen and so clean! I love Pensacola beach so much!
6) The festive people. Oh how many fun characters have I met, people down there just *make my day*
7) Manners. Yep, no rude people like in Portland. I love that little kids open doors for you.
8) the fashion. No no more fleece and gross sweat pants. I love seeing polo shirts and monograms!
9) Sweet talking southern men ... 'nuf said!
10) the heat! Oh yeah! Bring it on, I love walking outside at night when it's 90!!!
